Described as a 'seminal thrash band' by David Sly (The Advertiser, 12 April 1990) Where's The Pope? began playing in 1985 and had their final gig in 2005.

Their first release in 1989 with Greasy Pop Records Sunday afternoon barbeques also had a limited edition pressing on red vinyl album. Their second release in 1994 was the self produced and self titled Where's The Pope? and in 1999 they released an album on CD PSI with Resist Records.
